Old English Text Generator maps ordinary letters to the Mathematical Fraktur characters in Unicode, the blackletter shapes commonly sold as an Old English font. It changes the appearance of the letters, not the language: the output is still modern English written with Gothic-looking code points, and it is not a translation into Old English or a historical typeface. That distinction matters because the tool is often searched for by the look rather than the linguistics. The mapping is not a simple offset either. Unicode reserves several uppercase Fraktur slots and supplies those letters from letterlike symbols, so C, H, I, R and Z come from outside the main block; a naive range calculation would produce the wrong glyph. Lowercase letters sit in a contiguous run. Digits and punctuation are unchanged because Fraktur defines no digit forms, and non-Latin scripts pass through. Normalize Unicode Text reverses the substitution when a system rejects it. It is the tool for a Gothic-style heading, a themed display name, or a decorative label in plain text. Because the letters are separate code points, adjacent characters do not join, so the Gothic look is appearance only rather than connected calligraphy. The substitution is one-way in practice: Normalize Unicode Text can return the ASCII letters, but it cannot recreate a historical typeface or the language of a period.

Does this translate my text into Old English?
No. It changes the letter shapes to a blackletter style. The words remain in whatever language you typed.
Why do some capitals look like symbols?
Unicode reserves several uppercase Fraktur slots and provides those letters as letterlike symbols. The generator uses the correct characters rather than a broken offset.
Can I use it for a printed document?
Only if the document or app supports these Unicode characters. For print work, a real blackletter font gives better control and coverage.
