Line Length Limiter rewraps the lines that are too long and leaves every other line exactly as it was. That is the difference between it and a general word wrapper: a file with a header, a blank line and a few long log entries keeps its shape, and only the offending entries are broken at spaces. Width is set in characters, measured in code points, and a word longer than the width either overflows on its own line or is hard-broken, by choice. Existing short lines are never reflowed, which matters when indentation or deliberate line breaks carry meaning. The result reports how many lines exceeded the limit, so a file that looked uniform is shown to contain outliers. It is the tool for fitting a text file into a fixed-width field, cleaning up pasted log output, and enforcing a readable maximum without touching the rest of the document. A line that is already short is never padded to the width, so the output does not become a fixed-width table by accident. The count of changed lines is the useful signal: a high number means the source was never meant for this width, while one or two point at a specific runaway entry. Hard-breaking is off by default because splitting a URL or an identifier can make it unusable; turning it on is a deliberate trade between width and integrity. The output keeps LF endings.

Frequently asked questions about Line Length Limiter

Does it reflow every line?

No. Only lines longer than the width are wrapped; shorter lines keep their exact content and breaks.

What happens to a word longer than the width?

It overflows on its own line by default, or is split into fixed chunks when hard-breaking is enabled.

Is the width measured in pixels?

No. It counts code points, so rendered width depends on the font.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Wrapping runs in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or stored.
