Concatenate Text merges two documents in one of two ways. Line-by-line mode pairs the first line of each document, then the second, and so on, joining each pair with a separator you choose - which is what you need when two lists are already in the same order and should become one table, such as names beside email addresses, or product codes beside prices. Block mode simply appends the second document after the first with a single line break, which suits joining two halves of a document that was split for editing. The behaviour at the edges is stated rather than guessed. Line-by-line mode runs to the longer document, and when one side has no matching line the other side is emitted alone without a dangling separator; the result reports how many pairs were complete and how many lines were unpaired. Block mode trims trailing newlines from the first part and leading newlines from the second so the join is exactly one break. Neither mode sorts, de-duplicates or trims line content, so the order and spacing you supply are the order and spacing you get. Everything is processed locally in your browser. Unpaired lines are emitted without the separator, so the join never introduces a trailing delimiter on one side. The paired output uses the same separator for every row, including rows where one side is an empty string, so a deliberate blank field appears as a blank field.
How to use Concatenate Text

What you get
- The merged text, either paired line by line or as two blocks with one break between them.
- The line count of each input, plus complete and unpaired line counts in pairs mode.
- LF line endings and the exact separator you typed, with no reordering.
When to use Concatenate Text
- Put names and email addresses from two ordered lists on the same rows.
- Join two halves of a long document that was split for editing.
- Combine product codes with prices using a tab separator before pasting into a sheet.
Frequently asked questions about Concatenate Text
What happens when the two texts have different line counts?
Line-by-line mode continues to the longer document. Lines without a partner are emitted alone, without the separator, and are counted as unpaired in the result.
Does it sort or remove duplicates?
No. It only joins what you supply. Ordering, duplicates and line content are preserved exactly as pasted.
Can I use a tab as the separator?
Yes. Type or paste a tab into the separator field; the character is used literally. A typed backslash-t is not converted.
Are my texts uploaded?
No. Both documents are processed in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or stored after the page closes.
