Only urlset documents are checked, an index is reported as the wrong format, and the fifty-thousand-URL protocol ceiling is enforced as a warning. Locations are format-checked rather than requested, so no page is contacted and no request is logged. A clean result is a hint, not a promise: crawling and indexing remain the search engine's decision, and the page says so plainly. Very large documents stay readable because the summary lists counts first and only the offending entries in detail. Encoding problems surface as malformed locations rather than silent omissions.
