Paste text above to turn it upside down.
Upside Down Text flips a phrase by replacing letters, digits and some punctuation with rotated Unicode lookalikes, then reversing the character order so the result reads upside down. The second step is what makes it work: a rotated letter alone looks wrong, but a rotated string read from the other end reads correctly to a person who turns the screen over. The mapping covers the Latin alphabet, a handful of digits and common punctuation; anything else keeps its shape, which means an unsupported character still moves when the order reverses. That has consequences worth knowing before pasting. Line breaks are characters too, so turning the order off is the way to keep a multi-line list in place while flipping each line's letters. And the transformation is not a cipher: several rotated characters are ambiguous, so there is no reliable way to turn the result back into the original automatically. It is the tool for a playful message, a puzzle clue, or a decorative caption, not for anything that has to be decoded later. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Frequently asked questions about Upside Down Text
Can I turn the result back into normal text?
Not reliably. Several rotated characters map ambiguously, so Normalize Unicode Text deliberately leaves them alone rather than guessing.
Why did my line breaks move?
Reversing character order reverses every character, including newlines. Turn the order option off to keep lines in place while flipping the letters.
Why do some characters look normal?
The mapping covers Latin letters, some digits and common punctuation. Characters without a rotated form keep their shape but still move when the order reverses.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Flipping runs in your browser; nothing is sent to a server or stored.
