Longest Word Finder reports the longest token in a passage, every word tied for that length, and the character count that won. It is a small measurement with practical uses: a long unbroken word can overflow a narrow column, break a table cell, or reveal a concatenation mistake in imported data, and finding it by eye in a wall of text is unreliable. Tokens are Unicode letter and digit sequences, with internal apostrophes and hyphens kept as part of the word, so well-known counts as one nine-character token rather than two. Punctuation at the edges is ignored, and numbers are eligible because they are made of digits. Ties are all returned, not just the first, which matters when a style rule has to be applied to every offender. The result reports how many words were checked. It is the tool for checking a layout's worst case, finding accidental concatenations, and settling a word puzzle. Layout is the usual reason to care: a typeface set in a narrow measure breaks a long token awkwardly, and a table column sized to the average word will still overflow on the outlier. Knowing the worst case lets you set the column for it or hyphenate deliberately. If the winner is a number or an identifier, the layout issue is still real, but hyphenation should not be applied to it.
