SVG to PNG rasterises vector markup in the browser and hands back a PNG at the width you choose. The source can be a pasted document or a .svg file, and the height follows the original aspect ratio so nothing is stretched. Before rendering, the tool rejects scripts, inline event handlers and external references: those are the parts of an SVG that can execute or fetch, and a converter has no reason to accept them. The preview and the downloaded PNG come from the same canvas pass at the requested size, so the file matches what you see. A transparent background is preserved by default, with a white option for documents that will be pasted somewhere that assumes white. Everything runs locally on your device; no markup, image or filename is transmitted or stored.

Why does my SVG fail with a security message?

The markup contains a script, an on… event handler or an external href. Remove those parts before converting; an exported image should not carry executable content.

Does the PNG keep transparency?

Yes, when the background is set to transparent and the SVG itself has no opaque background rectangle.

Will text in the SVG render correctly?

Text uses fonts available to your browser. If the SVG depends on a font you do not have, convert the text to paths in the editor that produced it.

What is the maximum output size?

The width is capped at 8,192 pixels, which keeps canvas memory within browser limits.
