Drag and drop works here too.

PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 20 MB. Drag and drop or browse.

EXIF orientation is corrected before rotating, so the result matches what you saw. Quarter turns stay pixel-exact; custom angles resample the image.

Negative custom angles rotate counter-clockwise. Angles are limited to ±360 degrees.

Quality applies only to JPG and WebP output; the current format is lossless.

Choose an image, pick an angle, then rotate it locally.

Rotate Image turns a PNG, JPEG, or WebP by a quarter turn or any custom angle you type, correcting the EXIF orientation first so the result matches the picture you were just looking at. Quarter turns are drawn pixel-exactly; custom angles grow the canvas to fit and resample the pixels. You choose whether the file is saved back in its original format, as PNG, JPG, or WebP. Because quarter turns only rearrange the grid, they stay pixel-exact; custom angles resample, and the page states that trade-off rather than hiding it.

How to use Rotate Image

  1. Drop a PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 20 MB.
  2. Pick 90, 180, 270, or Custom and type the angle in degrees.
  3. Choose the output format, press Rotate image, then download or clear the result.

What you get

  • A rotated PNG, JPEG or WebP at 90, 180, 270 or a custom angle, with the new dimensions and filename reported.
  • Pixel-exact quarter turns, and a warning that a custom angle resamples and can soften fine text.
  • A canvas grown to fit a custom rotation, with transparent corners kept for PNG and WebP and flattened to white for JPEG.

When to use Rotate Image

  • Fix a phone photo that displays sideways because of its EXIF orientation tag.
  • Turn a scanned page shot in landscape into a portrait file for printing.
  • Straighten a slightly tilted photo by 3 degrees without opening an image editor.

Frequently asked questions about Rotate Image

Why does my photo look upright before I rotate it?

Phone cameras store rotation in an EXIF tag. This tool reads that tag and applies it first, so the picture on screen and the file you download are both upright before your extra rotation is added.

Does a custom angle lose image quality?

Yes, a non-quarter-turn angle has to resample pixels, which softens detail slightly. 90, 180, and 270 degrees use exact offsets and stay pixel-identical to the source.

What fills the corners after a custom-angle rotation?

The canvas grows to the rotated bounding box, and the corners that no pixel covers stay transparent. Saving as JPG paints them white because JPG has no transparency.

Can I rotate an image more than 360 degrees?

No, angles are capped at ±360 degrees because bigger values are almost always a degrees-versus-radians mistake. Rotate twice if you need a larger visual turn.
