Choose an image, set a rectangle, then crop.

Image Cropper cuts a precise pixel rectangle from a PNG, JPEG or WebP picture, using coordinates that line up with the upright image you actually see. It suits sellers trimming clutter from a product shot, designers extracting an avatar or banner from a larger canvas, and anyone removing a border or a stray edge without opening a full editor. EXIF orientation is applied before the crop, so X and Y refer to the displayed orientation rather than the stored pixels, and a rectangle that would fall outside the image is clamped to the visible bounds. Empty selections are rejected with a message, and the output keeps the source format, so cropped JPEGs are re-encoded and remain lossy. Every pixel is handled on your own device. Crop before resizing, so you never scale pixels you are about to discard. Nothing reaches your disk until you choose to download the cropped file. Keep width and height proportional when the subject allows, to avoid a stretched result.

How to use Image Cropper

  1. Drop an image and read its dimensions.
  2. Enter X, Y, width, and height for the region.
  3. Crop, download the result, or clear to start over.

What you get

  • The cropped region saved in the source image format (PNG, JPEG or WebP).
  • A download named after the original file with the crop dimensions included.
  • Coordinates clamped to the visible bounds, with empty rectangles refused.

When to use Image Cropper

  • Remove borders or photobombers from a picture edge.
  • Extract avatars and thumbnails from larger originals.
  • Cut a consistent square frame from a batch of product photos.

Frequently asked questions about Image Cropper

Does Image Cropper upload my photos?

No. Decoding, cropping, and encoding all run locally in your browser; nothing is sent, stored, or logged.

What if my rectangle sticks out of the image?

It is clamped to the visible bounds automatically. Rectangles with nothing inside are rejected with a message.

Does cropping recompress JPEGs?

Yes. The cropped region is re-encoded, so repeated crop-save cycles accumulate JPEG loss. Keep an original.

Do rotated phone photos crop correctly?

Yes. EXIF orientation is applied before cropping, so X and Y match what you see.
