JSON YAML Converter moves configuration between two formats that look similar and behave differently. In one direction it parses JSON and emits YAML with a chosen indent; in the other it parses YAML and emits JSON. Parsing happens before either output is produced, so a trailing comma or a mis-indented block is reported as a parse error rather than half-converted. YAML aliases are limited to a safe count, which stops an alias-heavy document from expanding into a memory problem, and JSON cannot represent every YAML value: custom tags and circular structures are rejected with an explanation instead of being silently flattened. The page is intended for config files, API fixtures and deployment manifests. Everything runs locally, so a document containing hostnames or tokens never leaves the browser.

Why is my YAML rejected?
Common causes are inconsistent indentation, a tab used for indentation, or a custom tag such as !Ref that JSON cannot represent. The message names the line or character where parsing stopped.
Is my configuration uploaded?
No. Parsing and serialising run in the browser, and nothing is stored after you leave the page.
Can I choose the indentation?
