First row must be headers. Values stay text.

Result

Paste CSV with a header row above.

CSV to JSON turns tabular text into a JSON array of objects, taking the first row as the key names. Two decisions define the output and both are stated on the page: headers must be unique and non-empty, and every value stays a string. Keeping values as strings is deliberate - inferring that 007 is the number seven, or that 03/04 is a date, destroys the original, and a payload built from guessed types is harder to trust than one that reflects exactly what the sheet contained. The parser follows RFC 4180, so a quoted field may hold commas, quotes or line breaks without shifting the columns that follow it. Duplicate or blank headers are rejected rather than silently renamed, because a renamed key breaks whichever consumer expected the sheet's own names. It is the tool for turning an exported sheet into a request body, for inspecting non-English CSV content as structured objects, and for checking that a file has the header shape an import expects before anyone writes code against it. Everything is parsed locally and nothing is uploaded.

How to use CSV to JSON

  1. Paste CSV with a header row and pick the delimiter.
  2. Read the JSON array instantly.
  3. Copy, download, or clear to start over.

What you get

  • A JSON array of objects keyed by the header row, with every value kept as a string.
  • A rejection of duplicate or blank header names instead of silently renaming them.
  • Multi-line quoted fields parsed per RFC 4180, so a line break inside a cell does not shift columns.

When to use CSV to JSON

  • Convert an exported sheet into JSON for an API payload.
  • Inspect Arabic CSV content as structured objects.
  • Check a hand-edited sheet still has unique headers before it becomes an API payload.

Frequently asked questions about CSV to JSON

Does CSV to JSON upload my data?

No. Parsing and conversion run locally in your browser; nothing is sent, stored, or logged.

Why do numbers stay strings?

Automatic typing corrupts values like 001 or long IDs. Keeping text preserves exactly what you pasted.

What if my headers repeat?

Duplicate or empty header names are rejected with a message instead of silently dropping columns.

Are quoted commas and newlines handled?

Yes. RFC 4180 quoting is parsed, so fields may contain delimiters and line breaks inside quotes.
