Find Longest Line returns the widest line in a block of text, with its line number, its length and the number of lines tied at that length. It is the measurement to run before pasting text into a fixed-width field, a terminal, a code block or a table cell: one runaway line is enough to wrap badly or force a horizontal scrollbar, and it is easy to miss in a long file. Length is counted in code points, not display columns, so the page does not pretend to know how wide a CJK glyph or an emoji will render. Whitespace-only lines are ignored so that a blank separator cannot win the shortest check or distort the count, and the tie count tells you whether one edit is enough. Only the first longest line is shown, which keeps the result readable; the count reveals the rest. It is the tool for preparing fixed-width text, auditing log output, and finding the line that breaks a layout. Export formats and terminals often impose a hard width, and a single overlong field is enough to break an otherwise valid file. The line number matters as much as the length: it turns a vague warning into one edit, and the tie count says whether the fix is a single row or a pattern across the file. A file can also be over-wide because of an unbroken URL or hash rather than prose, so check the winning line's content before deciding where to wrap.
