Preset sizes

social-presets-2026-10-17: each row is a commonly cited size, tagged with the date it was last checked. Platforms change their guidance without notice, so confirm the current requirement with the platform before publishing — nothing here is a promise that a size is or stays required. Every width and height stays editable.

Used by JPEG and WebP only; PNG ignores it.

0% keeps the left edge, 50% centres, 100% keeps the right edge.

0% keeps the top edge, 50% centres, 100% keeps the bottom edge.

One file is produced per selected size, in the order shown; two sizes that resolve to the same pixels become separate files with a numbered name. Decoding, resizing, encoding, and the ZIP archive all happen in this tab — the image is never uploaded. GIF is not accepted because a resized GIF would lose its animation.

Choose an image, tick the sizes you need, then press Resize.

Social Image Resizer turns one picture into the set of sizes you actually need. Tick a preset, edit its width or height if your plan differs, then produce every size in one pass: cover fills each box and crops the overflow from the crop position you set, contain fits the whole image and pads the edges. One size downloads directly; several come as individual files plus a ZIP archive. Presets carry the date they were last checked, and the page says plainly that platforms change their guidance.

How to use Social Image Resizer

  1. Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP file up to 20 MB; the page reports the decoded size before you commit to anything.
  2. Tick the presets you need, edit any width or height, and pick cover or contain plus the output format and quality.
  3. Press Resize, then download one file, or take every file plus the ZIP archive when more than one size is produced.

What you get

  • Up to twelve resized outputs from one source, each at a preset size using cover cropping or contain padding.
  • Per-output dimensions and a ZIP download of the batch, with the total pixel count reported.
  • A dated preset table, and a refusal of GIF because a resized GIF would silently become a still image.

When to use Social Image Resizer

  • Prepare a link preview image, a feed post, and a story from one photograph without opening three editors.
  • Produce a 16:9 thumbnail and a 2:3 pin from the same source and keep both exactly the size the platform expects.
  • Resize a whole set of sizes for a launch post and hand the ZIP to whoever publishes it.

Jobs you can do with Social Image Resizer

Frequently asked questions about Social Image Resizer

Are these preset sizes official platform requirements?

No. Each preset is a commonly cited dimension with the date it was last checked, and the page tells you to confirm the current requirement with the platform. Platforms change guidance without notice, so treat a preset as a sensible starting point you can edit, not as a rule.

What is the difference between cover and contain?

Cover fills the whole box and crops the overflow from the crop position you choose, so the output is exactly the preset size. Contain keeps the entire image visible and pads the remaining edges with your chosen colour, which also produces the exact preset size.

Why was my transparent padding written as white?

JPEG has no alpha channel, so transparency would encode as black there. When you pick JPEG output with transparent padding, the tool writes white edges instead and says so on the result rather than shipping an unreadable dark border.

Can I resize an animated GIF here?

No. A resized GIF would be a single still frame, so the tool refuses the file and explains why instead of quietly dropping the animation. Convert it to a still PNG, JPEG, or WebP first, then resize that.
