ZIP Extractor

List, audit, and unpack ZIP archives safely in your browser.

Browser onlyYour data never leaves this device.

Listing, auditing, decoding, and repacking all run in your browser, in a background worker when available. The archive never leaves the device and files only ever become downloads.

Drag and drop works here too.

One ZIP file up to 500 MB. Listed first, decoded only on request.

Result

No archive yet.

Choose a ZIP archive to list its entries.

ZIP Extractor opens archives the careful way: it reads the central directory first, audits every entry against expansion and path guards, and only then decodes what you select. Dangerous entries stay disabled with their reasons, encrypted files are reported without password games, and clean selections download individually or as a repacked safe archive. Archives are capped at 500 MB, and entry names are checked against traversal, absolute paths and duplicates before any bytes are extracted.

How to use ZIP Extractor

  1. Drop one ZIP file and read its audited entry list.
  2. Tick the files you want; refused rows explain themselves.
  3. Download files individually or as one repacked safe ZIP.

What you get

  • An entry list with uncompressed sizes and a refusal reason beside any entry that cannot be extracted safely.
  • Downloads of the entries you tick, plus a repacked archive whose unsafe names are sanitised.
  • Named refusals for encrypted files, symlinks, exotic methods and multi-disk archives, under a 1 GB and 200x expansion cap.

When to use ZIP Extractor

  • Inspect an unfamiliar archive's contents before trusting anything inside.
  • Pull two documents out of a large bundle without unpacking all of it.
  • Repack a download with dangerous paths stripped into a safe archive.

Frequently asked questions about ZIP Extractor

Does ZIP Extractor protect against zip bombs?

Yes. Entry counts, expanded totals, and per-entry expansion ratios are checked from the central directory before anything decodes, and violations name their entry.

What happens to encrypted files?

They are listed and refused by name. This tool never asks for passwords and never attempts decryption.

Where do extracted files go?

Only into your browser downloads — one file per download, or a single repacked ZIP. Nothing is written anywhere else, ever.

Is anything uploaded?

Nothing. Listing, auditing, decoding, and repacking run in your browser — in a background worker when one is available.
